Alexander Lewis
Brazilian-American designer Alexander Lewis was educated at Harrow before attending the University of Southern California, where he worked for two years with Cameron Silver of famed haute couture vintage boutique Decades. It was there that his love and appreciation for lost techniques in clothing making were awakened.

Lewis then assisted Andre Leon Talley, Editor-at-Large of American Vogue. Their friendship and work revealed to Lewis the importance fashion knowledge. Based on career advice and counsel from Lisa Love, West Coast Editor of Vogue, Lewis returned home to London to pursue purely technical training at Norton & Sons on Savile Row. After two years as a pattern cutter in the bespoke house, Lewis assumed the role of Head of Brand at E. Tautz before leaving in late 2011 to found his eponymous label.

Pre-Fall 2013 marks Alexander Lewis’ 2nd collection to date. Inspired by the golden age of 1970s Aspen, the mountain town’s climate, mood and architecture all flood this collection with rich references. Alexander loves to create his own bespoke, super-textural fabrics which - along with his incredible tailoring talents - he whips up into immaculately made trousers, skirts, dresses and for this season: outerwear. Birch-inspired brocades lend his ready-to-wear a graphic cleanliness, while his waffle patterned knits and colour injected sweaters give the collection a sophomoric charm. What’s not to love?
