Painterly prints and brushstrokes of colour are seen on Preen’s splash bloom dress and Pringle of Scotland’s printed skirt. The DIY print works day or night. Throw on Vassilisa’s blue mink tail print scarf at the weekend. Giles embellished gown featuring an elegant marbled print is well-suited to a grand evening affair. L’agence went for unconventional glamour with a jumper brushed with metallic gold foil with tantalizingly tactile results.
Paint wasn’t the only medium of choice. Alexander Lewis experimented with an intricate brick weave jacquard coat while Brooke Roberts bases her hand-knit shaggy wool jackets off X-rays.
Mother of Pearl partners with various artists to produce works you can actually wear. This season they’ve partnered with British artist Gary Hume on a range that features graphic florals and simplified animal silhouettes.
