PETER PILOTTO

THE STORY

Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos comprise the dynamic design team of their namesake label Peter Pilotto, praised for embracing both modern and classic perspectives on elegant womenswear. Having met at Antwerp’s prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the pair went on to debut their first collection in 2007 featuring a host of digital prints and since received various industry accolades praising their walking works of art. Signature traits include innovative cuts, a kaleidoscope of colour and otherworldly prints inspired by the captivating beauty of nature and science.

THIS SEASON

Dancing down a South-American route for SS17, the duo behind the Peter Pilotto label are worldly citizens and share a love for travel, so it was only normal to create a collection from a globally cultured perspective. Collaborating alongside contemporary New Zealander artist Francis Upritchard, cropped and bleached jeans feature her jewelled patches alongside more feminine and breezy dresses, cut from linens, floral printed fabrics and filigree lace. The slight transition away from print doesn’t mean a shy away from their trademark use of colour; splashes of deep pink, crimson, canary yellow and deep sea blue created a vibrant finish to taffeta gowns that would create show-stopping effect.
